Description:
The HK (Wolf) brand we believe is a Korean made instrument originally imported into Germany by the Hermann Kempf company (importer).
Really nice build quality and great sounding bass of which there are surely others, but this is the only one we’ve ever seen in this particular shape and string configuration.
Condition:
Very good, with very light player wear on show. We always take a lot of pictures so please have a good look at them.
Summary:
The bass is actually really lovely and built really well for the money being asked. It’s a total beast to play and if you want a cheaper 7 string fretless that looks absolutely awesome this will defiantly hit the spot.
Active/passive electronics and Kent Armstrong pickups which are a really nice product to those who know. It also has Wilkinson tuners which are very decent quality too.
It does weigh quite a lot though, so please be aware of this and a trip to us here in Bedfordshire for a demo is welcome. (Please contact first to arrange).
Pre Sale Service/Work:
Fretboard has had a level and nut lowered by a pro luthier. Electronics checked and serviced.
It has a new set of strings fitted of which the high F is a steel (non wound type), odd for a bass we know… These strings all came as one 7 string bass set from a German retailer and were not made up though.
Comments:
Always an adventure moving into the multi string bass world. Many turn up their noses at these kind of basses but it’s true to say that you can do things on these that would be impossible on a 4/5. Plus, for reading parts in the higher resister going across the fingerboard in the same position is easier than going up the neck! This being a 7 string fretless makes it all the more fun!
